Background
Cranbrook Sports Club can trace its routes back to the 1930's when the Rugby Club was formed. It now has over 450 members, including nearly 300 in the minis and junior sections. It's run wholly by volunteers and provides essential facilities for rugby and cricket as well as several community interest groups.
The club has set out a 10-year development plan to secure the future of the club in Cranbrook; this includes providing a new clubhouse and improvements to the sporting facilities for the benefit of the whole community.
What's Happened So Far?
Over the last 10 years, the club has improved our pitches and we’ve put plans in place to continue to invest in the grounds but now we also need to deliver a new building to accommodate a thriving sports club!
So, in early 2023, the sports club set up a development team to champion and drive forward much needed improvements to our facilities.
In spring 2024 we submitted plans for an exiting new clubhouse to Tunbridge Wells Borough Council. Planning permission was granted in August 2024. The next step is to get it built!
